Keynote Speaker. Uniter. Veteran.

Dan has dedicated his career to bringing people together to work towards common purpose. From West Point to Afghanistan and from Washington DC to small towns across the country, Dan has helped Americans of all backgrounds unite, solve problems, and make progress.

Following service in the Army and government, and as polarization worsened in countries across the world, Dan led some of the most far-ranging and innovative studies into what was pulling people apart and how we come together.

Work that Dan led has been cited hundreds of times in media outlets including the New York Times, Financial Times, Washington Post, Boston Globe, Houston Chronicle, Washington Times, and dozens of other outlets.

Dan shares lessons on the science, practice, and art of building connection, finding purpose, and overcoming polarization. And he works with companies, institutions, and communities to reduce polarization, build teams that thrive, and make progress together.

Dan is also passionate about building bridges between the American military community and the broader society. He continues to lead research, write, speak, and work with communities across the country to forge stronger bonds between the military and the civilian society.
